There will be hot competition this year for a place at our Annual Exhibition as we received a record number of entries, 2493 in all. This reflects an upward trend in works submitted online over the past few years (see below).
Whether this reflects the increasing popularity of portraiture or better communications remains to be seen.
Certainly, it was not that long ago that it was almost impossible to find tuition in the art of portraiture in the UK and now there are at least four schools of portraiture in London alone.
Our hope is that the quality of work matches as this should make for an exciting Exhibition at Mall Galleries in May.
