The Royal Society of Portrait Painters is proud to launch the RP Drawing Prize: Revealing the Human.
This is a new, dynamic opportunity for artists, designers and creatives whose work involves drawing.
The prize is open to artists in the UK and internationally.
This inaugural open call welcomes submissions in all drawing styles and techniques, providing a vibrant platform for bold, original, and thought-provoking work.
The RP is seeking submissions from artists who depict people, in whatever form that happens to be.
We are keen to explore and expand the idea of what a portrait can be and because drawing is such an immediate, direct response to the human, we’re hoping to be surprised by a wide variety of responses.
The RP Drawing Prize is open to creatives at all stages of their careers.
A distinguished panel will select up to 120 works to be exhibited at The University of Hull Art Gallery.
The Society presents the following Awards:
The de László Foundation Award for Drawing – The RP is delighted to announce that the De Laszlo Foundation has generously agreed to provide a fund of £1,000 to be awarded to an artist or artists under the age of 35 years old who demonstrate(s) excellence in drawing.
