ABOUT VALERIY
Valeriy Gridnev was born in Russia (the Urals) in 1956.
1976-1980 – graduated from Sverdlovsk Art College.
1983-1990 – studied at the St Petersburg Academy of Arts
1990 – Gridnev’s graduation project, an oil painting “The Early Years” won a prestigious prize: The Gold Medal of the USSR Academy of Art.
1990-1994 – worked in the creative studio at St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. Since 1991 – member of the Russian Artists Union.
Since 1999 Valery has lived and worked in the UK.

This is a rough fee-guide for a single portrait. Frame, travel & accommodation expenses, and VAT are not included because they can vary so much. For groups and non-standard sizes please ask for a quote.
METHOD OF WORKING
It takes 2-10 sittings depending on number of figure and size of the portrait. I can travel to the client including abroad or paint in my studio. I am happy to paint groups. I paint from life but can use photographs if it is absolutely necessary.
I am currently not registered for VAT.
