ABOUT TIM
Graduating from Byam Shaw School of Art, Tim is President of the Royal Insititute of Oil Painters and a member of the New English Art Club. He teaches portraiture at the New School of Art, Heatherleys and The Art Academy and sits on the Exhibitions Committee for Mall Galleries.
“Painted portraits speak to people in a way that the written word and photography cannot. When I am painting a portrait, I strive to make an image that offers more than simple representation – something with
an emotive quality that captures the viewer’s imagination.”

METHOD OF WORKING
METHOD OF WORKING
I paint exclusively in oils using large brush marks and an impasto technique to make painterly portraits that reflect the personality of the sitter. I prefer to work from life but will also work from good quality photographs. I am happy to travel to my sitter.
