ABOUT KENNY

Kenny was newly elected in 2024. Born in Bangor, County Down, he obtained a BA Hons in Illustration from Brighton University, being tutored by the greats such as Raymond Briggs and John Lord. A 12-year career in publishing subsequently followed.

Returning to Ireland in 1998, his practice in portraiture steadily gained momentum. Principally working from his studio in County Antrim, Kenny frequently travels to clients throughout the UK and abroad.

COMMISSIONS

METHOD OF WORKING

I work closely with my clients and generally schedule three, 2-hour sittings. Using a combination of sketches, photography and life, I endeavour to capture not only the requirements of the commission, but through light, composition and the application and texture of the painted surface, a deeper and more elusive quality.

I am happy to travel, costs of which are included in my commission rates. Framing and accommodation costs are not.
