This two-day intensive figure workshop in London is a unique opportunity to work from both a dancer/ life model and a live musician. Week one will start with a series of quick poses (musician playing, model moving) with the emphasis on responding to shape in an intuitive way. These poses will increase in time allowing you to build a rapport with your subject, and will incorporate either one or both models together. Space, sound, shape, rhythm and movement are the key elements under investigation.
The information gathered will inform the basis of a compositional narrative to be developed on the second day. This could be entirely imagined or you can continue to use the two live models to gather further information as needed. The emphasis will be on using wet and dry monochromatic media to create something highly personalised.
Each day will conclude with a plenary session.
You may book either one or both sessions which should be seen as primarily drawing rather than painting.
Workshops are run by the New English Art Club
