Still Life is one of the classic and most poetic genres of European painting. At its simplest it’s an arrangement of objects, even a single object, composed in a pictorial space. Anthony will begin this workshop by giving some time and consideration to composition. Everyone will be invited and helped to construct their own still life. Every arrangement of objects is a small drama in itself and the actual application of paint might be seen as a way of heightening that drama. Attendees should expect to produce at least one finished painting during this two day workshop and possibly more than one.
