ABOUT THOM

A young, entirely self-taught artist who has recently decided to pursue portraiture as a full time vocation owing to his aptitude and passion for it.

EDUCATION

2003-2008: Sir William Robertson High School (now Academy), Main Road, Welbourn, Lincolnshire, LN50PA.

GCSEs A-C; English Language and English literature, Mathematics, Science, Design Technology.

2008-2010: Grantham College, Stonebridge Road, Grantham, Lincolnshire NG31 9AP.
BTEC National Diploma in Art & Design.

2012-Present: The Open University, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK7 6AA.
BA (Hons) Humanities (Art History specialisation). An average of 87% (A) across six 2000-3000 word TMA’s (Tutor-Marked Assignments) on new topics, researched and delivered on time for the most recent module of study, ultimately receiving a distinction. Predicted first class honours when the course ends in 2020.

July 2015 – Exhibition at Carre Gallery, Sleaford.

November 2012 – March 2014 – Artistic editor of and contributor to Los Angeles based lifestyle magazine ‘Thistle’.

May – July 2014 – MOOC via Coursera – Foundational MOOC archaeology course with the Joukowsky Institute for Archaeology & the Ancient World at Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island.

July 2017- February 2018 – TEFL – Teaching English as a Foreign Language – 150-hour Premier Course Certification – (Distinction).

May 2020 – Work exhibited at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Annual Exhibition, Mall Galleries, London.
