Jane was born in West Sussex and is now based in Leicester. She graduated from Newcastle University in 1988 with a Fine Art degree. She also completed an MA in Design in 1996 at De Montfort University, Leicester. She has worked both as an illustrator and, more recently, as a graphic designer. She now works for galleries and to commission as a professional figurative artist. She is also an art and design tutor, working at a number of different art centres and FE/HE institutions both in Leicestershire and further afield.

I have always been a figurative artist – interested in colour, composition and form. I am focussed primarily on portraiture, but also include both landscapes and still lifes as subject matter.
