ABOUT BENJAMIN

Benjamin studied mathematics and physics at university because he was interested in them. His long-term plan throughout, though, was to become a painter and his artistic training happened concurrently through experimentation, practice, and reading. Benjamin has been a full-time artist since 2011, and as well as the RP, he is an elected member of the New English Art Club and the Pastel Society.
In 2014 Benjamin was awarded a runner-up prize in the Lynn Painter-Stainers Competition for his Self Portrait in Leftover Paint, and in the same year, the Jackson’s Prize at the United Society of Artists Exhibition for his portrait, Sophie. In 2016 he was awarded First Prize in the Jackson’s Pastel Portrait Competition.
